The workshop will include

· An introduction to 3d printing

· Understanding the 7 different forms of 3d production from extrusion to stereolithography, from powder bed infusion to sand jet casting!

· How scanners fit into the process

· What industries use 3d and how it is becoming part of our everyday lives

· How it is being taught at all levels of education

· What the future represents for 3d production and prototype printing. Remote on-demand printing

· Different materials that are used from plastic to metal, from cake to concrete!

· A demonstration of a working 3d printer and a hands-on session

· Questions and answers

This workshop will open the eyes of the attendees to what they could create in their own or their clients business. Help understand and see where the future of this creativity lies in their work and domestic lives.

To explore the cost value of this technology in product design and prototyping.

We will also be showing fast desktop Kodak scanning to conform to the new GDPR regulations and using our clevertouch interactive screen as part of the demonstration.

Richard Kirby

Richard is the Managing Director of The Digital Office UK Ltd and Abergower 3d printers Sales Director.

Richard has over 40 years' experience in the office automation business from copiers and printers scanners and wide format colour printers. As major account director of a PLC company in the 1980's and 90's to owning his own business based around the Watford area. Servicing and supporting many clients from PLC to new start-up companies in the Home Counties and London.

He has built print rooms with production printers, managed scan bureaus, to large scanning and data storage retrieval projects. Richard is a STEM Ambassador in schools lecturing on 3d Printers, a major passion of his, educating children of all ages by giving them an insight into the future and sparking their imagination and creativity to see businesses and work for them in the future.

They won with, Abergower, the APUC national framework agreement for further education to supply Universities, colleges and medical research institutions with 3d print and scan solutions.
